Corazon Wins Grand Clio for Branded Content

We are thrilled to announce that at last night’s Clio Awards, Serial Pictures, in partnership with agency JohnXHannes and Montefiore Health Systems, won a Grand Clio for Branded Content for Corazón, directed by John Hillcoat and written by Kelley Sane. The film also won a Gold Clio for Branded Entertainment: Film Scripted and three Bronzes, including Original Music, Sound Design and Use of Music.

“Corazón is a masterpiece of branded entertainment that moves the category forward, bringing the perfect meeting between brand purpose and what is important and true to people,” says ASAS Executive Producer Patrícia Weiss

“It is a brilliant piece of entertainment and film, with a great script, cast, performance and directing,” says Ryan McManus, Chief Creative Officer of VML South Africa. “But perhaps the best thing about it for me is that it is so brutally honest—something that is rare in the world of advertising.”

Based on a real-life doctor and patient, Corazón tells the story of Elena Ramirez (Ana de Armas of Blade Runner 2049) and her failing heart. With nothing left to lose and a family that needs her to live, she leaves Santo Domingo and follows Dr. Garcia of Montefiore (Academy Award Nominee Demián Bichir) on a near-impossible journey to New York. The film previously won a Grand Prix for Health at this year’s Cannes Lions and premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival as a finalist for the Tribeca X Award.
