Madonna has reteamed with her longtime collaborator director Jonas Akerlund for her latest music video, the powerful, graphic “God Control.” Highlighting the ongoing devastation of gun violence in the U.S. and the lack of action against it, the video disturbingly depicts a mass shooting juxtaposed with a joyous night of dancing.

“I want to draw attention through my platform as an artist to a problem in America that is out of control and is taking the lives of innocent people,” Madonna said of the video in a statement. “This crisis can end if our legislators act to change the laws that fail to protect us all.”

CNN called the video a powerful statement against gun violence, and March For Our Lives have tweeted their support of the video, which encourages viewers to support the following organizations:
